In March 2018, Aiman Mussakhodzhayeva, People's Artist of the Republic of Kazakhstan, performed in Lisbon.
In July 2019, the TURKSOY Youth Chamber Choir participated in the International Festival of Choral Music in Lisbon.
From 2019 to 2020, Kazakhstani students pursued Master's degrees under the Cooperation Agreement between Kazakh National Art University and Lusophone University of Humanities and Technology.
Kazakhstani films regularly feature at the BRAGACINE International Independent Film Festival.
In 2022, the feature film Kazakh Khanate: The Diamond Sword won the Grand Prix and the Best Director's Award. In 2023, the film Jauzhurek Mynbala was showcased at the festival.
In 2023, the State Chamber Ensemble of Kazakhstan "Forte-Trio" held concerts in Porto, Braga, and Lisbon.
In 2023, the tourism promotion video Kazakhstan - Like Never Before won two main prizes - Destination - Countries and Advertising Campaign - at the 16th ART&TUR International Tourism Film Festival in Portugal.
In January 2025, the historic Orlando Ribeiro Library in Lisbon hosted a screening of the Kazakh film The Walnut Tree.
To further academic collaboration, several bilateral agreements have been signed:
- in 2011, an agreement was signed between Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, the Engineering Institute of Lisbon, and the University of Lisbon to promote internships, educational programmes, and research activities.
- in 2019, Kazakh National University of Arts signed an agreement with Nova Lisbon University to facilitate academic mobility for students and teachers. A similar agreement was signed with the International University of Tourism and Hospitality of Lisbon.
- in 2020, the International University of Tourism and Hospitality of Turkestan signed agreements with the University of Algarve and the University of Minho, furthering academic ties.
- in 2022, the Academy of Public Administration under the President of Kazakhstan signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Institute of Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Portugal. This memorandum focuses on training diplomatic staff, collaborative research, and the exchange of information and documents.
