Before Departure to Malaysia
For students attending language courses / summer camps:
- It is recommended to sign a contract outlining all rights and obligations, including refund conditions.
- To study in Malaysia on language courses, it is necessary to obtain a student visa (see the procedure above).
For foundation / undergraduate / postgraduate / PhD students:
- Verify your higher education institution and academic program for accreditation:
- Wait for the offer letter from your university.
- Submit all required documents to the university to initiate your student visa application process.
- The university will then submit your documents to Education Malaysia Global Services.
You can track your visa application status via your personal account on their website.
(A 70% status indicates approval from EMGS for your student visa.)
- After receiving prior approval for your student visa, you must obtain entry permission to Malaysia (student pass).
- Once the student pass is issued, you may purchase your flight tickets and travel to Malaysia.
Upon Arrival in Malaysia
Immediately after arrival, proceed to the International Student Arrival Centre (ISAC):
- KLIA Terminal 1 – Level 3 (Arrival Hall)
- KLIA Terminal 2 – Level 3A
Important: You must report to ISAC before passing through immigration control.
At ISAC, officers will verify your documents and assist you. You will then be escorted to immigration.
Students are provided with a priority lane at immigration, which speeds up the clearance process.
After immigration, you will proceed to the arrival hall, where a university representative will meet you (if airport transfer has been arranged).
During Your Stay in Malaysia
- The orientation program is mandatory and must be completed upon arrival at your university.
- It is recommended to register with the Consular Section of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Malaysia.
- Monitor the validity of your student visa. Inform your university in advance about the expiry date, as renewal requires early submission of documents to the Malaysian Immigration authorities.
(Visa renewal typically takes 1–2 months.)
