Trade turnover for January–September 2024 amounted to $7 million (-47%),
2023 – $15 million (exports – $7.9 million, imports – $7.1 million),
2022 – $16.4 million (exports – $4.69 million, imports – $11.76 million).
Exports from Kazakhstan: bread and flour confectionery products, ferroalloys, liquid pumps, machines and mechanical devices for special purposes, products from ferrous metals, carbides, coal, etc.
Imports to Kazakhstan: paints and varnishes, seamless pipes, tubes, and profiles made of ferrous metals, etc.
The main mechanism for interaction between the two countries in the economic sphere is the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Cultural, Humanitarian, and Scientific-Technical Cooperation.
Co-chairs: Deputy Prime-Minister – Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan M.Nurtleu and Minister of Investments of Saudi Arabia Khalid Al-Falih.
By now, 6 IGC meetings have been held (October 1999 in Astana, March 2004 in Riyadh, May 2009 in Astana, November 2014 in Riyadh, September 2021 in Astana, and December 2023 in Riyadh).
November 25–27, 2023 – visit of the Trade and Economic Mission of Kazakhstani entrepreneurs to Saudi Arabia led by the Vice Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan K.Torebayev.
December 21, 2023 – The First Expanded Meeting of the Kazakhstan-Saudi Business Council was held in Riyadh.
Co-chairs: General Director of "GreyWolf Management" LLP K.Kudaybergenov and General Director of "Al Rajhi International for Investment" Ahmed Al-Dakhil.
Since the beginning of 2024, business delegations from Kazakhstan, under the leadership of the co-chair of the Kazakhstan-Saudi Business Council, have visited Saudi Arabia 4 times: (January 8–11: Participation in the "Future Minerals Forum", February 24–28: Participation in the "Big5 Construction", March 7–8: Participation in the "Leap Digital Forum", May 29: Participation in the "CA-GCC" Investment Forum).
June 5–8, 2024 – visit of the Saudi delegation led by the Co-chair of the Kazakhstan-Saudi Business Council Ahmed Al-Dakhil to Kazakhstan. On June 28, the delegation participated in the 25th Meeting of the Chamber of Commerce of the SCO Countries in Astana.
July 29, 2024 – The 2nd meeting of the Kazakhstan-Saudi Business Council was held in Almaty.
