Issuance of a Certificate for Return to the Republic of Kazakhstan

An identity document confirming the right of its holder to a single entry into the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Issued by consular institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan to:

citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan – in cases of loss of the passport of a citizen of the RK, the identity card of a citizen of the RK, diplomatic or service passports of the RK provided for by international treaties and agreements of the RK, or expiration of their validity period during their stay outside the Republic of Kazakhstan;
minor citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan – in case of their birth outside the RK;
stateless persons permanently residing in the Republic of Kazakhstan – in case of loss of the stateless person's certificate during their stay outside the RK;
refugees – in case of loss of the travel document during their stay outside the Republic of Kazakhstan;
citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan and stateless persons permanently residing in the Republic of Kazakhstan who have invalid entry documents for the RK or have lost their entry documents to the Republic of Kazakhstan – in cases of their deportation to the RK, extradition to the Republic of Kazakhstan, or transfer to the RK in accordance with an international readmission agreement ratified by the RK.

The Certificate for Return is issued with a validity period of up to 3 months!

Attention!!! Upon arrival in the Republic of Kazakhstan, the certificate for return must be submitted to the internal affairs bodies of the Republic of Kazakhstan at the place of permanent residence within 10 calendar days and shall be attached to the files for the restoration of lost identity documents.

LIST OF DOCUMENTS

An application in free form or a petition from the competent authority of a foreign state (in cases of deportation to the Republic of Kazakhstan or extradition to the Republic of Kazakhstan of a citizen of the RK or a stateless person permanently residing in the Republic of Kazakhstan).
A document issued by the competent authority of a foreign state confirming the fact of filing an application regarding the loss of an identity document (in case of loss).
Two color photographs measuring 3.5x4.5 cm.
The original document confirming the payment of the consular fee.
The original of one of the identity documents (if available) or an electronic identity document provided through the digital documents service, or in its absence, a completed application-questionnaire.
The relevant document issued by a medical institution of a foreign state confirming the fact of gender reassignment (in case of gender reassignment).

PROCESSING TIME

2 working days – if the original of one of the identity documents is available;
10 working days – in the absence of the original of one of the identity documents.
