Requesting documents from Republic of Kazakhstan

The state service for passport issuance is provided by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan through the consular institution of the Republic of Kazakhstan to citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan who are:

permanently residing outside the Republic of Kazakhstan;
enrolled in educational institutions located in foreign territories;
employed in foreign countries under an employment contract;
minors, in case of their birth outside the Republic of Kazakhstan;
family members of the aforementioned individuals, residing together with them;
family members of a foreign citizen residing outside the Republic of Kazakhstan;
relatives of diplomatic service staff, residing together with the diplomatic service personnel abroad;
persons unable to care for themselves due to advanced age (the elderly), and persons with health impairments involving a permanent disorder of body functions that limits their life activities, as well as persons caring for close relatives who are unable to care for themselves;
detained or held in custody, under arrest, or serving sentences in penitentiary institutions in a foreign state.

ATTENTION!!! The issuance of identity cards of the Republic of Kazakhstan does not fall within the competence of the consular institution.

LIST OF DOCUMENTS

Documents must be submitted in two copies.

1. Application form.

2. Passport of the Republic of Kazakhstan and its copy (front page and the page with the consular registration stamp).

3. Document confirming permanent residence status and its copy (Aufenthaltstitel), or proof of studies, employment abroad, marital status, or health impairment with a permanent disorder of body functions limiting the life activities of the individual.

4. Certificate of non-acquisition of German citizenship and its copy (Negativbescheinigung). A certificate confirming that you have not applied for German citizenship, to be presented within 30 calendar days from the date of issue, accompanied by a certified translation into Kazakh or Russian.

5. Marriage/Divorce certificates. If the marriage/divorce was registered in the FRG, an «Apostille» stamp and a certified translation into Kazakh or Russian are mandatory.

6. Printed document confirming the payment of the consular fee (Quittungsbeleg, Kontoauszug).

7. Four color photographs 3.5x4.5 centimeters (photographs must correspond to the applicant's current age at the time of document processing and must be taken strictly from the front against a light background, with a neutral facial expression and a closed mouth, where the face occupies approximately 75 % of the total photo area. Photos must be produced by photographic printing from a single negative on thick photographic paper. The use of images produced by computer scanning, modeling, or photocopying is not permitted).

8. In case a child under the age of 16 is obtaining a passport
- Birth certificate and an identity document of one parent to confirm the child's citizenship. A notarized statement of consent from the foreign parent for the child to obtain identity documents of a citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan (in case the child was born outside the Republic of Kazakhstan and the parents hold different citizenships, one of whom was a citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan at the time of the child's birth, and both parents had their permanent residence outside the Republic of Kazakhstan at that time).

LIST OF DOCUMENTS IN CASE OF LOSS OF PASSPORT OF THE RK

Documents must be submitted in two copies.

1. Application form.

2) Application questionnaire explaining the reasons for the loss of the passport, in accordance with the prescribed form.

3) Original and copies of the birth certificate.

4) Notarized copies of the passport of the citizen of the RK (if available), or other documents proving your identity and confirming your entry into the FRG for permanent residence.

5) Certificate of non-acquisition of German citizenship and its copy (Negativbescheinigung). A certificate confirming that you have not applied for German citizenship, to be presented within 30 calendar days from the date of issue, accompanied by a certified translation into Kazakh or Russian.

6) Original and copies of the police report certificate confirming that you have filed a statement regarding the lost passport (with a certified translation into Kazakh or Russian).

7) Original and copies of Marriage/Divorce/Death certificates. For documents issued by the competent authorities of the FRG, an «Apostille» stamp and a certified translation of the certificate into Kazakh or Russian are mandatory.

8) Photographs 3.5x4.5 – 4 pcs. (matte) (The photograph must correspond to the applicant's current age at the time of submission to the consular section, must be taken strictly from the front against a light background without a smile, the face must occupy at least 75% of the photo area, with a white background remaining above the head and on the sides).
