The results of the parliamentary elections were discussed

Brasilia, March 21, 2023 – At the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Brazil, Ambassador Bolat Nussupov met with the Deputy of the Chamber of the National Congress of Brazil, the head of the Parliamentary Friendship Group «Brazil-Kazakhstan» of the lower house of the Parliament, Claudio Cajado.

During the conversation, the parties discussed the extensive agenda of cooperation between Kazakhstan and Brazil and agreed to make efforts to further expand the political dialogue between the two states and realize the full potential of trade, economic and investment cooperation. These intentions are especially relevant this year as part of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.

The Ambassador of Kazakhstan Bolat Nussupov, having familiarized the interlocutor with the results of the extraordinary elections of deputies of the lower house of Parliament (Mazhilis) and local self-government bodies (Maslikhats), which took place on March 19 this year, stressed that the elections were a landmark event for Kazakhstan and the final stage of a comprehensive reset of key state institutions. It was also noted that the political transformations carried out in recent years and the targeted liberalization of the electoral legislation have given a powerful impetus to the party building of Kazakhstan.

A separate aspect of the negotiations was the issue of holding a joint meeting of the friendship groups of the lower chambers of the Parliaments of the two countries this year after the formation of a new composition of the Kazakhstan-Brazil group in the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Taking the opportunity, Claudio Cajado congratulated the people of Kazakhstan on the Nauryz holiday and wished happiness, well-being, peace and prosperity to all Kazakhstanis.
