Trade and investment issues on the agenda of Kazakh-Brazilian cooperation

Brasilia, 20 April 2021 – Ambassador Bolat Nussupov held an online meeting with the President of the Agency for the Promotion of Trade and Investment under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brazil (Apex-Brasil) Sergio Segovia.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the current status of trade, economic and investment cooperation between Kazakhstan and Brazil and expressed interest in expanding it, incl. in the mining industry and the agro-industrial complex. The main emphasis was placed on enhancing the interaction of Apex with the Kazakh companies “KazakhInvest” and “Kaztrade”, taking into account the capabilities of the Brazilian side. The Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan offered the leadership of Apex to act as a co-founder of the Kazakh-Brazilian Business Council, the purpose of which will be to expand and develop direct business contacts between entrepreneurs of the two countries.

In turn, the head of Apex, highly assessing the prospects for building up bilateral trade, economic and investment cooperation, expressed readiness to provide all kinds of assistance in the work, including holding joint economic events. The parties agreed to continue efforts to increase the volume of mutual investments and trade.
