NUR-SULTAN. KAZINFORM - The 175th anniversary of Abay is celebrated not only in Kazakhstan. In honor of the anniversary of the great poet, Turkish singer Ayben Yersoi sang his song and shot a clip on it, the Kazinform correspondent reports.
“In June of this year, our Kazakh friends in the capital of Kazakhstan planned to hold a festival in honor of the 175th anniversary of the great poet Abay. According to the conditions, the festival participants had to perform one of the songs of the great poet. We also prepared the work of Abay "Kozimnіn Karasy" in a modern arrangement. Last week we shot a video in one of the most beautiful places in Istanbul, near the Sultan Ahmet Mosque. Unfortunately, due to the spread of coronavirus, this project was stopped. However, we considered it right to finish what we started and share our creation with you, ”the Turkish singer wrote on Instagram.
In an interview with the MIA “Kazinform” correspondent, the singer told how she first became acquainted with Kazakh music.
“I have been to Kazakhstan several times on various projects. She was a member of the jury of the Silk Way Star project, organized by Qazaqstan. It was a wonderful project. I spent unforgettable days not only on air in front of the cameras, but also behind the scenes with our brothers. Then I heard Kazakh music and realized that it is very similar to our folk motifs. Then I wanted to bring these feelings to our peoples and to recall our common roots, originating from ancient times. The song "Көзімнің қарасы" fell in love with me the first time.
For the first time, despite the fact that I did not understand the meaning of the words, I still felt what this song was about. Therefore, this song is of particular importance to me, ”said A. Ersoy. Now Ayben plans to participate in projects that will provide an opportunity to get acquainted with the work of other related peoples. “Despite the fact that today everything in the world is changing rapidly, we have a valuable core in our souls. We are able to reach new levels, continuously develop and every day we recognize ourselves from a new perspective. Striving for new heights, we must bring to the future the values that Abai spoke of. Persons like Abay are born for good undertakings in the world, ”Ayben Yersoy emphasized.
