The main goods of Kazakhstan's exports: energy resources, precious stones and metals, jewelry, coal, copper, aluminium, wheat, flax seeds, alcohol.
The main goods of Kazakhstan's imports: products of the pharmaceutical, watchmaking, engineering, agricultural and chemical industries, precious stones and metals, jewelry.
According to statistics from the Statistics Committee of the Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, there are about 280 legal entities, branches and representative offices with varying degrees of participation of Swiss capital in the Republic of Kazakhstan, including ABB (technologies in the energy sector), Bühler (equipment for the food industry), Nestlé (food industry), Roche and Novartis (pharmaceuticals), Clariant (chemical industry), Syngenta and Swissgrow (agrochemistry), Glencore (mining industry), Philip Morris Intl. and Japanese Tobacco Int. (tobacco industry), UBS (financial services), Sika (building materials), Mabco Construction (construction), SGS (certification), ENCE (engineering), etc.
The 4th meeting of the Business Council was held on July 11, 2018. P.Spuhler, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Stadler Rail Group, owner of PCS Holding, co-chaired the meeting.
The 10th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation was held on October 28, 2019, Bern. Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan B.Sultanov and Commissioner of the Federal Council on Trade Agreements E.Bollinger were co-chairmen.
