Opening of the photo exhibition “Shygys Salburyny”

On December 13, the opening of the photo exhibition “Shygys Salburyny”, dedicated to the Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan, took place in the regional library named after A. S. Pushkin.

The photo exhibition is dedicated to the traditional international festival of berkutchi “Shygys salburyny”, which took place from September 10 to 14 in the East Kazakhstan region. Representatives from Mongolia, China, Hungary, the Kyrgyz Republic and the Russian Federation took part in the festival.

Salburyn is one of the most popular and vibrant Kazakh winter traditions. During the winter hunting season, golden eagles and hunters get together to spend several days searching for prey. This ancient ritual for the Kazakhs has always been not just a hunt, but a real winter holiday. As part of the festival, viewers were able to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of salburyn and learn how birds of prey and hunting dogs (tazy) are trained to hunt. The festival program also included master classes and performances by famous berkutchi, who shared the intricacies of their craft and answered questions from the audience.

The photo exhibition featured photographs taken during the festival by photojournalists, our fellow countrymen. These photographs allowed visitors to see the best moments of the event, and famous golden eagles introduced the features of traditional hunting competitions and answered questions from the audience.

This event has an important goal - to attract attention to the preservation and popularization of ancient Kazakh traditions, which are part of the spiritual and cultural heritage of the country.

The exhibition “Shygys Salburyny” became an important step in promoting hunting traditions and reviving interest in the cultural wealth of Kazakhstan.

We invite everyone to visit the exhibition and enjoy the amazing photographs that will take you into the atmosphere of one of the most spectacular and ancient Kazakh holidays. The exhibition will run until the end of December.
