"My Homeland - Kazakhstan": festive program
On October 25, the A.S. Pushkin Regional Library hosted a festive program called "My Homeland - Kazakhstan".
On the eve of the national holiday - Republic Day, the library organized an interactive literary exhibition "Kazakhstan, looking to the future". The exhibition featured books that, using specific examples, demonstrate changes in various spheres of state life, such as politics, economics, culture and art, after the adoption of the Declaration of State Independence of the Kazakh SSR on October 25, 1990.
As part of the program, a presentation of the collection "Legends of Eastern Kazakhstan" took place. The collection, published in three languages, contains toponymic legends about the history of the origin of river and mountain names of Eastern Kazakhstan, legends about holy places and historical figures; tales about wonderful and magical characters who lived in our country. In particular, in the Katon-Karagay district, many legends about our region, such as the name of the Altykyz pasture, the unchanging love of the Irtysh and Ulba, the name of the mountain "Altai", the history of the Kandysu River, will undoubtedly be interesting to the reader. The new collection leads to a close acquaintance with East Kazakhstan. The compiler of the collection is a local historian, the owner of the breastplates "Madeniet salasynyn uzdigi", "Kіtapkhana isinyn ardageri" Slyamova Ziza Mukhtarhanovna. A literary quest "Menin Otanym - KAZAKHSTAN" was held for young readers, where the participants demonstrated their knowledge and ingenuity. College students took part in the literary and historical dictation called "Tauelsіz eldin tugyry". The topics of the dictation are issues of respect for the values and principles of the state, the formation of Kazakhstani identity, strengthening public harmony and unity, and patriotic education. Participants who scored the highest number of points were awarded diplomas.
An interactive book exhibition was organized on the new alley for city residents, where new books by local writers published this year as part of the book series "Abai Alemi" and a QR exhibition of East Kazakhstan writers were presented.
