

Border control at checkpoints is one of the activities of the Border Service of the National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Border control at checkpoints in relation to persons, vehicles, cargo and goods includes:
1) preliminary verification of information in relation to persons intending to cross the State Border, including using the information bases of transport organizations;
1-1) verification of documents and persons, including through the processing of biometric personal data, as well as interviewing persons in order to determine the legality of crossing the State Border, identifying violators of the procedure for crossing the State Border, as well as identifying persons in relation to whom there are established by the laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan restrictions on entry into the Republic of Kazakhstan and exit from the Republic of Kazakhstan;
2) checking the availability of permits of all regulatory authorities in order to determine the legality of the movement of vehicles, cargo and goods across the State Border, to identify and suppress violations of the procedure for crossing the State Border;
3) inspection of vehicles, cargo and goods, if necessary - special (in-depth), in order to detect and detain violators of the procedure for crossing the State Border;
4) examination of persons in the presence of signs of violation of the procedure for crossing the State Border;
5) escorting vehicles from the places of crossing the State Border to checkpoints or from checkpoints to the places of crossing the State Border.
