The Staff Department is a structural division of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, responsible for ensuring and implementing the coordination and planning of the activities of the unified system of internal affairs bodies.

Functions:

• Information and analytical support for the activities of the Minister of Internal Affairs.
• Comprehensive analysis of the activities of Internal Affairs Bodies and the development of managerial decisions for the Minister of Internal Affairs.
• Organization and conduct of meetings of the Collegium of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, operational and administrative meetings under the Minister of Internal Affairs.
• Organization and provision of planning within the central apparatus of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and territorial Internal Affairs Bodies.
• Ensuring executive discipline within the central apparatus of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
• Development of a general strategy for operational management.
• Reception and registration of applications and reports, complaints, and other information (including in electronic format) regarding criminal offenses.
• Organization of interaction between units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and other state bodies on matters of public order protection, timely detection and investigation of crimes, and the apprehension of individuals suspected of committing them.
• Organization of the collection, processing, and monitoring of information on the operational situation in the republic.
• Implementation of special operational plans.
• Strengthening accounting and registration discipline.
• Organization of zonal control and inspection of the operational and service activities of territorial police departments and departments of transport.
• Methodological guidance on the organization of the work of staff units of internal affairs bodies, and the provision of practical assistance to them.
• Organization of official travel for employees of the central apparatus of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
• Organization and coordination of the activities of Internal Affairs Bodies in the sphere of international cooperation.
• Implementation of measures of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the establishment and development of external relations with law enforcement agencies of foreign states.
• Formation of the reference and information fund of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
• Study, generalization, and implementation, jointly with the services of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, of positive domestic and foreign experience into the practice of Internal Affairs Bodies.
