Foreign Nationals with US Residency

From January 7, 2022, the visa-free regime up to 30 days has been resumed for the citizens of 57 countries (visa is not required for citizens of listed countries whose stay in the Republic of Kazakhstan does not exceed 30 calendar days).

Citizens of the Commonwealth of Australia, the United States of America, the Republic of Austria, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Kingdom of Belgium, the Republic of Bulgaria, the United Arab Emirates, the Holy See of Vatican City, the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the Federal Republic of Germany, the Hellenic Republic, the Kingdom of Denmark, New Zealand, Japan, the State of Israel, Republic of Ireland, Republic of Iceland, Kingdom of Spain, Republic of Indonesia, Republic of Italy, Canada, State of Qatar, Republic of Cyprus, Republic of Colombia, Republic of Korea, State of Kuwait, Republic of Latvia, Republic of Lithuania, Principality of Liechtenstein, Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Hungary, Malaysia, Republic of Malta, United States of Mexico, Principality of Monaco, Kingdom of the Netherlands, Kingdom of Norway, Sultanate of Oman, Republic of Poland, Portuguese Republic, Romania, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Republic of Singapore, Slovak Republic, Republic of Slovenia, Kingdom of Thailand, Turkish Republic Republic, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the Republic of the Philippines, the Republic of Finland, the French Republic, the Republic of Croatia, the Czech Republic, the Republic of Chile, the Swiss Confederation, the Kingdom of Sweden and the Republic of Estonia enter the Republic of Kazakhstan and leave the Republic of Kazakhstan without visas, if their period stay in the Republic of Kazakhstan does not exceed thirty calendar days from the moment of crossing the State Border of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in total ninety calendar days during each period of one hundred and eighty calendar days.

Please note: all visitors must present a negative PCR test certificate (issued no more than 3 days before the crossing the border of the Republic of Kazakhstan). Except for children under 5 years of age.

Visa Applications

In case you plan to stay in Kazakhstan longer than 30 days you have to apply for visa. All visa applications must be submitted to a consular section in-person by the applicant. Visa applications will not be received by mail or courier. Visa issued to foreign nationals (other than the USA) who has permanent residenship status in the USA. 

• Valid passport: You must submit your passport valid for at least 3 months longer than the validity of the requested visa. The passport must have at least two blank pages for a visa and for entry and exit stamps.
• Visa Application: A separate visa application form must be completed for each person. All fields must be completed, otherwise your application may be refused.
• Visa Fee Payment: Visa fees (depending on purpose of visit, see main page) must be paid by money order addresssed to the consular section assigned to the applicant’s state of residency.
• Photo: One passport size (3.5cm x 4.5cm or 5 x 5cm) photo of the applicant, which should be stapled to the marked space in the upper right hand corner of the application form.
• Letter of Request: A letter with a request to issue a visa addressed to the Consulate General of Kazakhstan in New York. Please, indicate your name, the purpose of your trip, your contact in Kazakhstan, the dates of your planned trip, and places to be visited.
• Photocopy of your passport’s main page.
• Citizens whose country does not have a visa-free entry regime with the Republic of Kazakhstan require an invitation letter from Migration Service of Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan.
• Self-addressed Envelope: visa applications may include a self-addressed return envelope with pre-paid postage (for residents of states other than New York City).
• Document submission for visa is by appointment only

Consular and visa services are provided to foreign nationals (citizens not of Kazakhstan or the United States) with permanent or full-time residency in the United States. Documents and fee payments should be submitted to the consular section with jurisdiction for the individual’s U.S. state of residency. Citizens whose country does not have a visa-free entry regime with the Republic of Kazakhstan require an invitation letter from the Migration Service of Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan.
