On 22 October 2024, at the initiative of the Consulate General of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Istanbul and with the support of TÜRSAB, a special forum dedicated to promoting Kazakhstan’s tourism potential was organized for the first time. The forum brought together representatives from the cities of Astana, Almaty and Shymkent, as well as the Mangystau, Turkistan and East Kazakhstan regions. The event gathered representatives of Kazakhstan’s tourism centers, hotels, tour operators, Air Astana, Aktau International Airport, and more than 120 representatives of Türkiye’s tourism sector. During the forum, Kazakhstan’s cultural, historical and natural tourism attractions were presented, resulting in the signing of memorandums and agreements on bilateral cooperation.

• On 13 December 2024, a Kazakh–Turkish Tourism Roundtable was held to promote the tourism potential of the Turkistan Region. The event brought together representatives of tourism agencies, the hotel industry, and media organizations from both countries. In addition, bilateral meetings were organized with Turkish Airlines, Albayrak Medya Group, Bozdağ Film, Jolly Tur, Tatilsepeti, Coral Travel, and Polin Waterparks in the fields of tourism, media, and tourism infrastructure.
• In 2024, a media visit to Kazakhstan was organized at the expense of Ülke Televizyonu, a television channel operating under İhlas Medya Grubu. During the visit, documentary films promoting Kazakhstan’s tourism potential in Türkiye were produced. As a result, eight documentaries about the cities of Turkistan, Shymkent, Almaty, and Astana were filmed and broadcast during prime-time hours on the channel for one week.
• From 7 to 10 August 2025, in order to further promote Kazakhstan’s tourism potential (with funding provided by the Turkish side), an ознакомительная visit was organized for representatives of TGRT Belgesel, a documentary television channel operating under İhlas Yayın Holding. The purpose of the visit was to film a documentary about Turkistan, the spiritual capital of the Turkic world. As a result, a five-episode documentary on the historical sites of Turkistan was produced.
• On 18 January 2025, a screening of the film Janym Qazaqstan was organized in Istanbul to promote Kazakhstan’s natural beauty and cultural heritage in Türkiye. The event attracted more than 400 local viewers.
• On 29 January 2025, with the support of Citix, a large-scale advertising campaign titled “Kazakhstan: Born Bold” was launched in Istanbul.

• In order to further expand trade and economic relations, with the support of the Consulate General, a working visit of a delegation from the Körfez Chamber of Commerce, consisting of representatives of 41 Turkish companies, to Astana was organized on 24 April 2025. In addition, a large-scale B2B event was held in Almaty in cooperation with the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM), bringing together 18 Turkish manufacturers and facilitating approximately 200 business meetings with Kazakh enterprises on 21 October 2025.

• To support the participation of Kazakh companies in international exhibitions, the Consulate General assisted Bal Textile in organizing and participating with a dedicated Bal Carpet pavilion at Carpet Flooring Expo (7–10 January 2025). Furthermore, in cooperation with Astana Hub, the participation of five Kazakh IT start-ups in Eurasia Technology Week was facilitated (16–19 April 2025). During the event, consultations were held with Bilisim Vadisi, The Hood Tekmer and KOSGEB regarding the expansion of Kazakh technological solutions into the Turkish market. In addition, the participation of ten Kazakh companies operating in the halal products sector was organized at the international exhibition Halal Expo 2025 (25–28 November 2025).

• A roundtable meeting was held jointly with the Foreign Economic Relations Board of Türkiye (DEIK) on 11 April 2025, bringing together more than 30 Turkish entrepreneurs. Kazakhstan’s export potential was also presented at the 4th International Quality Products Forum on 4 October 2025.

• To promote the exchange of experience in financial and non-financial support mechanisms for entrepreneurs, visits to Istanbul were organized for representatives of the Damu Entrepreneurship Development Fund (30 May 2025) and the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC).

• To strengthen the presence of Kazakh products in the Turkish market, contacts were established with Türkiye’s leading retail chains, namely ŞOK, A101 and Migros, and negotiations were conducted on promoting domestic products and increasing export deliveries.

• Furthermore, participation was ensured in meetings of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) held in Istanbul (10 April 2025), the Organization of Turkic States (on a regular basis), the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (4 November 2025), and the Economic Cooperation Organization (26 November 2025) in order to promote and safeguard Kazakhstan’s trade and economic interests in international economic platforms.

• Cooperation with Turkish business organizations has been established on a systematic basis. Interaction is carried out primarily through sectoral associations and business organizations, including the Foreign Economic Relations Board of Türkiye (DEIK), the Independent Industrialists’ and Businessmen’s Association (MUSIAD), the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO), the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM), and the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB). Cooperation is also maintained through the representative offices of these organizations in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The strong growth in export volumes indicates stable demand for Kazakhstani products in the Turkish market and highlights the significant potential for further expansion of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.
