Issuance and Extension of Visas

Visa Recipients:

• diplomatic agents of foreign diplomatic missions and representations equivalent to them;
• consular officers of foreign consular institutions, staff of international organizations and their representations accredited in the Republic of Kazakhstan, traveling to work in the Republic of Kazakhstan;
• honorary consuls of foreign states accredited in the Republic of Kazakhstan and their family members.

Visa Multiplicity and Validity Period:

• single-entry up to 90 days, for the entire period of the visa validity;
• multiple-entry up to 180 days, for the entire period of the visa validity.

 Additional Documents Required for the Visa:

• verbal note (indicating the position to which the invited person is appointed, and in case of rotation, the position, last name, and first name of the employee whom they are replacing).

Visa Recipients:

• members of official foreign delegations, their accompanying persons, and their family members;
• representatives of foreign mass media accredited in the Republic of Kazakhstan and traveling to the Republic of Kazakhstan (託n agreement with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the RK託;
• military personnel of foreign states traveling to the Republic of Kazakhstan on official business;
• dependents of persons applying for visa categories "A2" and "A4";
• holders of passports of international organizations who do not have a status equivalent to diplomatic agents, as well as holders of national passports working in international organizations and their family members;
• holders of official passports traveling to the Republic of Kazakhstan on official business;
• diplomatic couriers carrying diplomatic mail, if they do not have a diplomatic passport, provided they have a courier list;
• persons traveling on an official business trip to the Republic of Kazakhstan at the invitation of foreign diplomatic missions, consular institutions, international organizations and their representations, or state authorities of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
• cosmonauts and astronauts traveling to the Republic of Kazakhstan to perform a space flight and returning from space to Earth.

 Visa Multiplicity and Validity Period:

• single-entry up to 90 days, for the entire period of the visa validity;
• multiple-entry up to 1 year (託or cosmonauts and astronauts up to 3 years託, for the entire period of the visa validity.

Additional Documents Required for the Visa:

• verbal note.

Visa Recipients:

• members of the administrative-technical and service personnel of diplomatic missions;
• employees of international organizations or their representations;
• consular employees, staff of the service personnel of consular institutions of foreign states accredited in the Republic of Kazakhstan, and their family members.

 Visa Multiplicity and Validity Period:

• single-entry up to 90 days, for the entire period of the visa validity;
• multiple-entry up to 180 days, for the entire period of the visa validity.

 Additional Documents Required for the Visa:

Visa Recipients:

• executives conducting investment activities within the territory of the Republic and/or their deputies;
• heads of structural divisions of legal entities conducting investment activities in the Republic of Kazakhstan;
• foreigners and stateless persons making investments in accordance with the investment tax residency program of the AIFC;
• their family members.

Visa Multiplicity and Validity Period:

• single-entry up to 90 days, for the entire period of the visa validity;
• multiple-entry up to 5 years, for the entire period of the visa validity.

Visa Recipients:

• foreign businesspersons who have invested more than 300 thousand US dollars into the economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Visa Multiplicity and Validity Period:

• multiple-entry up to 10 years, for the entire period of the visa validity.

Visa Recipients:

• participants of conferences, symposia, forums, exhibitions, concerts, cultural, scientific, and other events;
• participants of meetings, round tables, exhibitions, expert gatherings;
• persons accompanying humanitarian aid;
• those arriving for the purpose of giving lectures and conducting classes in educational institutions;
• participants of youth, student, and school exchange programs, excluding studies in educational institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
• participants of sports events.

Visa Multiplicity and Validity Period:

• single-entry up to 90 days, with the right to stay up to 60 days;
• multiple-entry up to 1 year, with the right to stay for no more than 60 days per entry.

Visa Recipients:

• those arriving for the purpose of installation, repair, and maintenance of equipment;
• those arriving for the purpose of providing consulting or auditing services.

Visa Multiplicity and Validity Period:

• single-entry up to 90 days, with the right to stay up to 30 days;
• multiple-entry up to 180 days, with the right to stay up to 90 days.

Visa Recipients:

• those arriving to conduct negotiations, conclude contracts;
• those arriving to conduct negotiations, conclude contracts within the framework of cooperation in the field of industrialization and investments;
• founders or members of the board of directors.

Visa Multiplicity and Validity Period:

• single-entry up to 90 days, with the right to stay up to 30 days;
• multiple-entry up to 1 year, with the right to stay for no more than 30 days per entry.

Visa Recipients:

• persons engaged in international road transport.

Visa Multiplicity and Validity Period:

• single-entry up to 90 days, with the right to stay up to 30 days;
• multiple-entry up to 1 year, with the right to stay for no more than 30 days per entry.

 Additional Documents Required for the Visa:

• permit documents for the vehicle to travel through the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
• copy of the authorization to perform international transport;
• copy of the driving license;
• vehicle documentation.

* The visa recipient may enter and exit the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan only using transport that corresponds to the category of the obtained visa.

Visa Recipients:

• persons who are crew members of regular and charter flights and do not hold the corresponding license of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), members of train crews, as well as crew members of sea and river vessels.

Visa Multiplicity and Validity Period:

• single-entry up to 90 days, with the right to stay for no more than 30 days;
• multiple-entry up to 1 year, with the right to stay for no more than 30 days per entry.

 Additional Documents Required for the Visa:

• permit documents for the vehicle to travel through the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

* Train crew members may enter the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan only on transport corresponding to the category of the obtained visa.

Visa Recipients:

• persons traveling to the Republic of Kazakhstan to participate in the activities of a religious association (excluding missionary activity).

Visa Multiplicity and Validity Period:

• single-entry up to 90 days, with the right to stay for no more than 30 days.

Visa Recipients:

• persons traveling to the Republic of Kazakhstan for educational practice or internship, including training under "Astana Hub" programs, as well as their family members.

Visa Multiplicity and Validity Period:

• single-entry up to 90 days, for the entire period of the visa validity;
• multiple-entry up to 180 days, for the entire period of the visa validity.

To obtain a visa for entry into the Republic of Kazakhstan, the following must be provided:

1) Visa application form with a color or black-and-white photograph measuring 3.5 x 4.5 centimeters; 

2) When applying for a visa at a diplomatic mission of the Republic of Kazakhstan or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan: the number and date of the invitation registered with the Ministry of Internal Affairs or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan (the inviting party informs the visa applicant of the number and date of issue), or a petition from the visa category applicant;

3) A valid diplomatic, service, or foreign passport of a foreign state, or any other identity document recognized by the Republic of Kazakhstan and providing the right to cross the State Border of the Republic of Kazakhstan;

4) Original payment documents confirming the payment of the consular fee;

Paid consular fees are non-refundable (in accordance with Clause 7, Article 629 of the Tax Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, version 25.12.2017 No. 120-VI).

5) Additional documents required for obtaining a visa in accordance with the visa category ( Appendix 1 to the Rules).

6) Additionally, for the issuance of a B8 visa for entry to the Republic of Kazakhstan for permanent residence, a fee of 75 euros is charged for this petition (https://adilet.zan.kz/rus/docs/V1900018702) 

Visa Recipients:

• persons possessing in-demand professions.
  
  

Visa Multiplicity and Validity Period:

• single-entry up to 90 calendar days, for the entire period of the visa validity;
• multiple-entry (託ssued once within one year託) up to 90 calendar days, for the entire period of the visa validity.

Additional Documents Required for the Visa:

• Copy of the diploma of education corresponding to the list of in-demand professions for foreigners to obtain a permanent residence permit in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Visa Recipients:

• IT specialists traveling to the Republic of Kazakhstan to obtain a permanent residence permit.
  
  

Visa Multiplicity and Validity Period:

• single-entry electronic up to 1 year, for the entire period of the visa validity;
• multiple-entry paper up to 1 year (issued by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the RK in the presence of a single-entry electronic B9-1 visa), for the entire period of the visa validity.

Additional Documents Required for the Visa:

• Petition from the authorized body of the RK on informatization issues or Astana Hub.

Visa Recipients:

• those traveling on private matters;
• those traveling for a funeral or in cases of illness of relatives/close ones - subject to supporting documents;
• spouses, children (託ncluding adopted children託) or parents (託uardians, trustees託) (subject to documents confirming relationship), entering with citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
• spouses, children (託ho are not ethnic Kazakhs託) entering jointly with ethnic Kazakhs.

Visa Multiplicity and Validity Period:

• single-entry up to 90 days, for the entire period of the visa validity;
• multiple-entry up to 180 days, no more than 90 days per entry;
• multiple-entry (for former compatriots) up to 3 years, no more than 90 days per entry.
• Former compatriot – a person born in or previously holding the citizenship of the Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic or the Republic of Kazakhstan and permanently residing abroad.

Visa Recipients:

• persons traveling to the Republic of Kazakhstan for the adoption of citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Visa Multiplicity and Validity Period:

• single-entry up to 180 days, with the right to stay for no more than 120 days;
• multiple-entry up to 1 year, with the right to stay for no more than 120 days per entry.

Visa Recipients:

• persons traveling to the Republic of Kazakhstan as tourists.

Visa Multiplicity and Validity Period:

• single-entry up to 90 days, with the right to stay for no more than 30 days;
• multiple-entry up to 90 days, with the right to stay for no more than 30 days per entry.

Visa Recipients:

• persons working remotely and having a stable income from foreign sources.

Visa Multiplicity and Validity Period:

• multiple-entry up to 1 year, for the entire period of the visa validity.

Additional Documents Required for the Visa:

• bank statement for the past 6 months confirming a stable monthly income exceeding 3000 US dollars;
• tax declaration issued by the competent authority of the country of citizenship;
• document confirming the absence of a criminal record issued by the authorized authority of the country of citizenship or permanent residence;
• medical insurance covering the requested period of the visa validity.

Visa Recipients:

• persons traveling to the Republic of Kazakhstan for transit through the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Visa Multiplicity and Validity Period:

• single-entry up to 90 days, with the right to stay for no more than 5 days in one direction;
• multiple-entry up to 180 days, with the right to stay for no more than 5 days in one direction.

Additional Documents Required for the Visa:

• travel tickets;
• issued visa to the destination country;
• driving license and documents confirming the right to drive the vehicle, if traveling by personal transport.

Visa Recipients:

• ethnic Kazakhs traveling to or residing in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the purpose of permanent residence.

Visa Multiplicity and Validity Period:

• multiple-entry up to 1 year, for the entire period of the visa validity.

 Additional Documents Required for the Visa:

• documents confirming the nationality of the applicant - in the absence of a record of nationality in identity documents;
• documents confirming the right to be included in the immigration quota for Kandases on a priority basis (if available);
• certificate confirming the absence in the applicant and their family members of diseases specified in the decree of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated September 30, 2011, No. 664;
• document confirming the presence or absence of a criminal record issued by the authorized body of the country of citizenship or permanent residence.

Visa Recipients:

• persons who are family members of citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan permanently residing in the Republic of Kazakhstan, ethnic Kazakhs and former compatriots who have received a temporary residence permit in the Republic of Kazakhstan (for a period of at least two years), foreigners and stateless persons permanently residing in the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as business immigrants.

Visa Multiplicity and Validity Period:

• single-entry up to 90 days, for the entire period of the visa validity;
• multiple-entry up to 1 year, for the entire period of the visa validity or for the period of registration of the inviting person (except for citizens of the RK).

 Additional Documents Required for the Visa:

• petition of the inviting person in free form;
• notarized copy of the temporary residence permit of the inviting person, with the exception of citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
• notarized copy of the identity document of the inviting person and family members;
• proof that the inviting person has funds for the maintenance of each family member per month in an amount not less than the minimum wage established by the law of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the republic's budget;
• notarized copy of the confirmation that the inviting person has housing on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the area of which complies with the established minimum standards for each family member in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated April 16, 1997 "On Housing Relations";
• medical insurance for family members of the inviting person;
• notarized copy of the document confirming family relations with the inviting person (being married for at least one year, recognized by the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan), presented by the authorized state bodies of the Republic of Kazakhstan or a foreign state;
• document confirming the presence or absence of a criminal record for adult family members of the inviting person, issued by the authorized body of the country of citizenship or permanent residence.

Visa Recipients:

• persons traveling to the Republic of Kazakhstan;
• persons located in the Republic of Kazakhstan for the purpose of carrying out labor activities;
• their family members.

Visa Multiplicity and Validity Period:

• single-entry up to 90 days, for the entire period of the visa validity;
• multiple-entry up to 3 years (for participants and bodies of the AIFC, employees of Astana Hub participants or employees of Astana Hub – no more than 5 years), for the entire period of the visa validity.

Visa Recipients:

• persons traveling to the Republic of Kazakhstan or residing in the Republic of Kazakhstan for independent employment in professions in high demand in priority sectors of the economy.

Visa Multiplicity and Validity Period:

• single-entry up to 90 days, for the entire period of the visa validity;
• multiple-entry up to 3 years, for the entire period of the visa validity.

 Additional Documents Required for the Visa:

• certificate of qualification compliance for self-employment.

Visa Recipients:

• business immigrants.

Visa Multiplicity and Validity Period:

• single-entry up to 90 days, for the entire period of the visa validity;
• multiple-entry up to 2 years (託or ethnic Kazakhs - up to 3 years託, for the entire period of the visa validity.

 Additional Documents Required for the Visa:

The visa is issued by foreign institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the basis of an invitation, provided there is:

• a medical certificate confirming the absence of diseases that prevent labor activity;

• medical insurance;

• a document confirming the presence or absence of a criminal record, issued by the competent authority of the country of citizenship or permanent residence;

• a document confirming the presence or absence of a ban on carrying out entrepreneurial activities based on a court decision, issued by the competent authority of the country of citizenship or permanent residence, if the issuance of such a document is provided for by the legislation of the foreign state. The visa recipient must be of legal age.

Visa Recipients:

• seasonal foreign workers.

Visa Multiplicity and Validity Period:

• single-entry up to 90 days, for the entire period of the visa validity;
• multiple-entry up to 1 year, for the entire period of the visa validity.

Additional Documents Required for the Visa:

• permit issued to the employer to attract foreign labor force.

Visa Recipients:

• persons traveling to the Republic of Kazakhstan to carry out missionary activities;
• their family members.

Visa Multiplicity and Validity Period:

• single-entry - up to 90 days, with the right to stay for no more than 30 days;
• multiple-entry - up to 180 days, for the entire period of the visa validity.

Visa Recipients:

• volunteers arriving in the Republic of Kazakhstan to provide services in the fields of education, healthcare, and social assistance on a voluntary, unpaid basis;
• persons arriving in the Republic of Kazakhstan within the framework of international treaties ratified by the Republic of Kazakhstan, for the purpose of providing charitable and humanitarian assistance and rendering grants.

Visa Multiplicity and Validity Period:

• single-entry up to 90 days, for the entire period of the visa validity;
• multiple-entry up to 1 year, for the entire period of the visa validity.

Visa Recipients:

• persons traveling to the Republic of Kazakhstan for the purpose of admission and studying in educational organizations implementing educational curricula of secondary, technical and vocational, post-secondary, higher, and postgraduate education, including organized student exchange programs and preparatory courses, as well as their family members;
• ethnic Kazakhs who have temporarily arrived in the Republic of Kazakhstan under a visa-free regime and have been admitted to educational institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
• their family members.

Visa Multiplicity and Validity Period:

• single-entry up to 90 days, for the entire period of the visa validity;
• multiple-entry up to 1 year, for the entire period of the visa validity.

Additional Documents Required for the Visa:

• notarized written consent of legal representatives, translated into Kazakh or Russian, for minor visa recipients.

Visa Recipients:

• ethnic Kazakhs.

Visa Multiplicity and Validity Period:

• single-entry up to 90 days, for the entire period of the visa validity;
• multiple-entry up to 3 years, for the entire period of the visa validity.

Additional Documents Required for the Visa:

• documents confirming national identity.

Visa Recipients:

• persons traveling to the Republic of Kazakhstan for medical treatment, medical examination, or consultations, as well as accompanying persons;
• persons located in the Republic of Kazakhstan upon the emergence of the necessity for their treatment, as well as accompanying persons;
• persons traveling to the Republic of Kazakhstan for the purpose of caring for close relatives who are citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan, or foreigners permanently residing in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan and undergoing treatment in medical facilities;
• persons located in the Republic of Kazakhstan upon the emergence of the necessity of caring for close relatives who are citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan, or foreigners permanently residing in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan, who are undergoing treatment in medical facilities.

• single-entry up to 180 days, with the actual stay no more than 90 days;
• multiple-entry up to 180 days, with the actual stay no more than 90 days.
