December 10, 1996 – diplomatic relations between the Republic of Kazakhstan and former Union Republic of Yugoslavia (Serbia is the assignee of the Union Republic of Yugoslavia) were established.
June 2015 – Representative office of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Hungary was opened in Belgrade.
July 2019 - a presidential Decree on opening Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Republic of Serbia was signed.
Since 2019 – Gabit Syzdykbekov was appointed as an Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Serbia.
October 24, 2019 – Gabit Syzdykbekov, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan presented his credential letters to H.E. Aleksandar Vučić, President of the Republic of Serbia.
