Cultural and humanitarian cooperation
In the territory of Türkiye monuments of prominent national figures, poets and writers of the Kazakh people are erected, in particular, A.Kunanbayuly, Abylay Khan, S.Aronuly, Zh.Zhabayev, M.Zhumabayev, Kabanbay Batyr and First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Elbasy N.Nazarbayev.
Since 2003, a secondary school named after Abai has been functioning in Istanbul. In 2020, the elementary school named after Farabi in the province of Erzurum and the secondary school named after Farabi in the province of Mush were opened.
Cooperation between the Union of Writers of Kazakhstan and the Eurasian Union of Writers of Türkiye is developing dynamically. Until now, with the support of the Turkish side, the works of more than 100 Kazakh poets and writers have been translated.
Cooperation between Türkiye and Kazakhstan in the field of education is an important part of the cultural and humanitarian direction. To date, about 2,500 Kazakh students have graduated from Turkish advanced universities and are contributing to the development of relations between the two countries. According to the Turkish Higher Education Council in 2022-2023 academic year 8219 Kazakh students study in Turkish universities.
Also successfully operates the International Kazakh-Turkish University named after Akhmet Yasawi in Turkistan, created by agreement between the governments of Kazakhstan and Türkiye. Branches of this university operate in Almaty, Shymkent and Kentau.
Another evidence of the development of cultural ties is the growth in the number of sister cities of the two countries, such as Ankara-Astana, Almaty-Istanbul, Antalya-Taldykorgan, Pavlodar-Kayseri, Aktau-Samsun, Shymkent-Izmir, etc.
