Murat Nalkhozhauly Ergeshbayev was born in 1966 in the Kyzylorda region.
He graduated from the Almaty Institute of National Economy and the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, specializing in Agricultural Planning and Public Administration.
He began his career in 1989 as an economist at the Zhambyl state farm in the Syrdarya district of the Kyzylorda region. He held senior management positions in state-owned enterprises and the private sector.
From 2008 to 2011, he served as Akim of Kyzylorda and Head of the Finance Department of the Kyzylorda region.
From 2011 to 2014, he served as Akim of the Karmakshy and Shieli districts.
From 2014 to 2017, he served as Deputy Head of the Consumer Rights Protection Department for the city of Almaty and Managing Director and Chief of Staff of KazAgroOnim Joint-Stock Company.
From 2017 to 2021, he served as Head of the Employment and Social Programs Coordination Department of the Kyzylorda region and Akim of the Kazaly and Syrdarya districts.
From 2023 to 2026, he was a member of the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan of the 8th convocation. On May 8, 2026, by decree of the Head of State, he was appointed Akim of Kyzylorda region.
He was awarded the Order of Honor (2011) and the Order of Parasat (2025).
