As they say," cotton for the country of ERDI, for the people of zhigit", we proudly pronounce the names of war veterans led by the heroes of the Soviet Union Nagi Ilyasov and Zhappasbay Nurseitov from the Syrdarya soil and bow to their exploits. About 3 thousand citizens went to the Great Patriotic War from the Syrdarya district, more than half did not return to their native land. They performed a feat for the motherland and gave us a peaceful life. Today, our grandfather Yahya Tasyrov, a 103-year-old veteran of the Great Patriotic War, an honorary citizen of the Syrdarya district, is a witness of bloodshed. We always have great respect for the veteran of the Great Patriotic War. Today's generation is grateful to the strong and courageous people who worked not only at the front, but also in the rear, experienced famine, hardships and worked from dawn to sunset.
