One of the most important tasks of the sphere of culture is to popularize the historical and cultural heritage and national culture of Kazakhstan as a witness to the historical fate of the people, the basis of its development, an integral part of human civilization.
Today, there are 1141 historical and cultural monuments on the territory of Kostanay region, including 5 historical and cultural monuments of local significance (sculpture of twice Hero of the Soviet Union L. I. beda, bust of twice Hero of the Soviet Union I. p. Pavlov, monument to I. Altynsarin, ritual structures of the I and II centuries) and 1136 historical and cultural monuments of local significance, 1051 of them-archeology and 85 urban and architectural monuments.
The Sacred map of the region includes 38 sacred objects of the region (10 of national significance and 28 of regional significance).
Museums of Kostanay region combine purposeful work on preserving the historical and cultural heritage of the region, forming a creative life position and ethnic consciousness of the younger generation.
The Museum network of Kostanay region includes 10 state museums, 3 of which are memorial museums (Kostanay regional memorial Museum named after Y. Altynsarin, amangeldin memorial Museum named after A. Imanov, Zhangeldin complex of Torgay museums, which combines the memorial museums of Shakshak Zhanibek, Ibray Altynsarin, Akhmet Baitursynov and Mirzhakyp Dulatov).
