Customs officials from CIS countries held a meeting in Dushanbe

A Kazakh delegation led by Zhandos Duisembiev, Chairman of the State Revenue Committee, took part in the 81st meeting of the CIS Council of Customs Service Heads, which was held on September 26, 2025, in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan.

The meeting was attended by delegations from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.

The parties discussed a wide range of issues related to the development of customs cooperation, the exchange of best practices in law enforcement, and the improvement of customs processes.

The heads of delegations adopted a number of decisions aimed at ensuring uniform classification of goods in accordance with the commodity nomenclature, including through the creation of a special working group in this area, as well as improving customs control.

The parties also exchanged practices on organizing customs control of temporarily imported containers for international transport.

The Kazakh delegation emphasized the need to create appropriate infrastructure conditions at the borders of the CIS countries and to synchronize work in adjacent areas.

The next meeting of the Council of Heads of Customs Services of the CIS is scheduled for the first half of 2026 in Kazakhstan.
