W Kazakhstan regional communications service held briefing on VAT changes in 2026

Today, the regional communications service of the West Kazakhstan region held a briefing on the amendments to the tax code of 2026 regarding Value Added Tax (VAT).

The briefing was attended by Deputy Head of the state revenue department for the West Kazakhstan region Kunchayev Zhunus Rakhimovich and head of the Department of indirect taxes administration of the Department Esengaliyev Sungat Zheksenbayevich.

During the event, the speakers spoke in detail about the main changes in the tax code regarding VAT, which came into force on January 1, 2026. In particular, the rates of value added tax, changes in the threshold for VAT registration, the procedure for calculating and paying taxes, as well as the peculiarities of taxation in relation to certain industries were explained.

In addition, the procedure for issuing electronic invoices, taxpayer obligations and the practical application of new requirements were widely discussed.

At the end of the briefing, representatives of the media asked their questions and received detailed answers on the new norms of the current tax legislation.

The state Revenue Department of the West Kazakhstan region will continue its regular information and explanatory work in order to timely inform taxpayers about changes in legislation and promote the correct application of new norms.
