📦New rules for purchases on foreign marketplaces will come into force in the second half of 2026

📦New rules for purchases on foreign marketplaces will come into force in the second half of 2026

In the EAEU countries, new rules for goods purchased on foreign Internet sites such as Temu, AliExpress, iHerb and others will begin to apply from July 2026. 🌍

It should be recalled that the pilot project for the design of such goods has been in effect since 2023. Kazpost JSC, DHL International Kazakhstan LLP and other suppliers of goods for individuals became its participants.

During the experiment, there were no difficulties with receiving parcels from citizens. ✅

What will change?

Goods purchased by individuals on foreign marketplaces will be allocated to a separate category — "e-commerce goods".

A new type of customs declaration is being introduced for them — the "declaration for electronic commerce goods". In one declaration, it will be possible to declare information about 999 products from different buyers at once.

Special e-commerce operators will submit such declarations to the customs authorities, so buyers will not need to process the documents themselves.

If the purchase price does not exceed 200 euros,

There is no need to pay duties and taxes.;
The package will be delivered as usual.;
You will not need to contact the customs authorities yourself.;
All necessary documents will be processed by the e-commerce operator.

At the same time, the duty-free limit remains at 200 euros.

Another important change is that the weight threshold of 31 kg is abolished. ⚖️

As for more expensive purchases ,

If the cost of the product exceeds 200 euros, you will be charged:

🔹 customs duty — 5% of the value of the goods;
, VAT — 16%.

Calculation examples:

, The cost of the product is 250 euros:
The fee will amount to 12.5 euros (about 7 thousand tenge) + VAT.

📍 The cost of the product is 500 euros:
The duty will be 25 euros (about 14 thousand tenge) + VAT.

For comparison, a single payment of 15% of the amount exceeding the duty-free threshold (including VAT) is currently applied to such goods.

The new rules are aimed at streamlining online commerce and preventing the import of commercial shipments of goods under the guise of purchases for personal use.
