Work on digitalization in the region is carried out in accordance with paragraph 72 "Implementation of the components of "Smart Karaganda" according to the concept of "Smart Karaganda" of the action Plan for the implementation of the state program "Digital Kazakhstan".

As part of the implementation of this paragraph, 11 areas for digitalization are identified. These are education, health, social sphere, city management, social sphere, IaCT, security, ecology, HaCS, business and tourism development, transport and construction.
