Yerlan Nyssanbayev was born in 1961 in the Almaty region.
He graduated from the Kazakh Agricultural Institute and the Kazakh National Pedagogical University named after Abay, specializing as a forestry engineer and holding a bachelor’s degree in finance.
He is a Candidate of Agricultural Sciences.
Карьера
- 1983: Began his career as a foreman at Uygur Forestry in the Almaty region
- 1984-1989: Served as an instructor and deputy head of the Organizational Department of the Uygur District Committee
- 1989-1991: Head of the Agricultural Department sector of the Almaty Regional Committee
- 1991-2004: Worked in commercial organizations
- 2004-2009: Held management positions at Astana-Zelenstroy JSC
- 2009: Appointed Chairman of the Committee of Forestry and Hunting at the Ministry of Agriculture
- 2013-2014: Deputy Minister of Environment and Water Resources
- 2014-2021: Deputy Minister of Agriculture, and later Deputy Minister of Ecology, Geology, and Natural Resources
- 2021-2023: Deputy Chairman of the Board for Strategic Development and International Relations at S. Seifullin Kazakh Agrotechnical University
- Advisor to the Akim of Astana city prior to his appointment
- Since September 2023: Appointed Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources by presidential decree.
He has been awarded the orders “Parasat” and “Kurmet.”
