Forest fund

The forests of the region are a kind of natural complex, consisting mainly of intrazonal floodplain forests, represented by plantations of white and black poplar, oak, elm, willow, and birch-aspen groves. All forests of the region are assigned to 1 group of forests and are protective, performing water protection, field and soil protection, sanitary and hygienic, health improvement and other useful functions.

The state forest resources of the region are located in ten administrative districts of the region (Chingirlausky, Burlinsky, Baiterek, Terektinsky, Syrymsky, Akzhaiksky, Bokeiordinsky, Karatobinsky, Zhangalinsky and around the city of Uralsk), and three areas are completely treeless - these are Taskalinsky, Zhanibeksky, Kaztalovsky districts.

Within the region, under the jurisdiction of the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Management of the WKO, there are 8 communal state institutions for the protection of forests and wildlife.

The total area of ​​land of the state forest fund of the region is 216,851 hectares, of which forest lands occupy 157,779 hectares or 73% of the total area and non-forest lands - 59,072 hectares, or 27%. Of the forest lands, forested lands account for 89,478 hectares (57%).

The forested area is represented by the following main forest-forming species, of which pine occupies 718 hectares, birch - 630 hectares, aspen - 1271 hectares, alder - 91 hectares, poplar - 43679 hectares, tree willow - 7536 hectares, oak - 2364 hectares, ash - 3983 hectares , maple - 1967 ha, elm - 11448 ha, other tree species and shrubs - 15791 ha. Pine plantations of the region are located on the territory of Yanvartsevsky (528 hectares), Urdinsky (158 hectares) and Uralsky (32 hectares) KSU for the protection of forests and wildlife.

Annually, in order to increase the forest cover of the region, state forestry institutions on the territory of the state forest fund plant forest plantations of the fund on an area of ​​782 hectares.

There are 8 forest nurseries on the territory of state institutions for the protection of forests and wildlife, where about 3500.0 thousand pieces of planting material are grown annually. These planting materials are used mainly for forest planting works, and are also released for greening of settlements in the region.
