Ensuring safe working conditions

(as of September 1, 2020)

According to article 17 of the Labor code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the labor Inspectorate is responsible for analyzing the causes of occupational injuries and taking measures to prevent them.

In 2020, 43 industrial accidents were registered, including 2 group accidents.

46 employees were injured in them. The number of victims with a fatal outcome was 2 people, with a severe outcome 39, and in group accidents 5 people were injured. The average age of the affected employees is 41-43 years.

60 special investigations of industrial accidents were conducted. 60 materials were sent to law enforcement agencies.

Accident rate per 1000 people it is 0.19 (according to the WKO territory development Program, the plan for 2020 is 0.30).

In the context of economic sectors, the largest number of victims is noted at enterprises: budget organizations-41%; construction-15%; small business organizations - 11%.

By type of accident, most accidents occurred due to: falling victim - 32%; falling objects - 18%; accidents - 18%.

The main causes of accidents were: gross negligence of the victim-52%; unsatisfactory organization of work - 26%.

In order to ensure safe working conditions:

- as of today, 121 enterprises in the region have implemented international and national standards for occupational safety and health (OHSAS 18001, ILO-OSS);

- 13 enterprises carried out certification of production facilities for working conditions;

- 1,466 managers and specialists of enterprises have passed the test of knowledge on safety and labor protection.

- more than 600 production councils have been created and operate at the enterprises of the region, whose tasks include the prevention of industrial injuries, as well as the organization of inspections of working conditions in the workplace.

- to date, in order to support this concept, 50 organizations of the region have registered on the official website of "Vizion Zero "as a"Company".

Also, enterprises ("Zhaikmunai" LLP, "Zapkazrek" JSC, "Zhaiyk Taza Kala" LLP, "Kazarmaprom" LLP, "Regional emergency medical service station" state enterprise) where accidents occur most often at work are included in the Roadmap for reducing industrial injuries and jobs with harmful and dangerous working conditions.

The roadmap developed for 2019-2021 takes into account the industry specifics of work, the causes of accidents that occurred earlier, and also makes suggestions for improving the health of the ORGANIZATION.
