Vice-Chairman Olzhas Kizatov was born on March 25, 1977, in Oskemen, East Kazakhstan Oblast. He graduated from the Kazakh Academy of Management with bachlor’s degree in economics. He also holds Master of Business Administration degree from the Kazakh Economic University named after T. Ryskulov.
Olzhas Kizatov was appointed Vice-Chairman of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Regulation and Development of Financial Market by the Command of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated February 25, 2022.
Prior to this assignment, Mr. Kizatov served as Director of the Department of the Bank Regulation from January 2020 to February 2022 at the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Regulation and Development of Financial Market.
Olzhas Kizatov started his career at the National Bank of Kazakhstan as an economist in the Monetary Research Division of the Research and Statistics Department. From 1999 to 2015, he held various positions from economist to deputy director of the department. In 2015, he served as Director of the Human Capital Department as at the National Analytical Center JSC.
From November 2015 to December 2019, he also held different positions at the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan as Acting Director of the Institutional Work and Control Department, Acting Director of the Bank Supervision Department, and Director of the Banking Regulation Department.
Earlier on, he served as an inspector of the Social and Economic Monitoring Division at the Administration of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan from February to November 2015.
