In order to further improve the system of public service and anti-corruption, on June 13, 2019, by Presidential Decree No. 12, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau was transformed into the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan (Anti-Corruption Service).
According to the Decree, the Agency is an independent law enforcement agency with exclusive comprehensive competencies in combating corruption, while the National Bureau was an agency within the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Civil Service Affairs and Anti-Corruption.
The Anti-Corruption Agency is designed to strengthen the fight against corruption and improve the effectiveness of its prevention.
Taking into account the voiced values, the structure of the Agency was formed, while the model of the most successful foreign anti-corruption bodies was taken as a basis.
Only a rational combination of prevention, education and measures of a criminal-legal nature will make it possible to achieve a decisive breakthrough in the field of combating corruption.
The new structure of the Agency reflects the priority of preventing corruption. Therefore, three areas have been created to strengthen the work: prevention, integrity and partnership.
