Republic Day is the main and only national holiday of the country. On October 25, 1990, by the resolution of the Supreme Council of the Kazakh SSR, the declaration on state sovereignty of the Kazakh SSR was adopted. With the adoption of this declaration, a separate territory, citizenship, state budget, independence in international relations, and state symbols of Kazakhstan were approved. The sovereignty of Kazakhstan and the integrity of the territory were substantiated from a political, legal and economic point of view.
5 years later, on October 18, the decree of the president of the Republic of Kazakhstan declared October 25 – the national holiday of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Republic Day.
