International Women's Day

International Women's Day is a holiday celebrated annually on March 8 in a number of countries and states around the world. It appeared as a day of women's solidarity in the struggle for women's rights and emancipation. In 1945, the Charter of the United Nations became the first international document to affirm the principle of equality between men and women. Since March 1975, International Women's Day has been celebrated by UN member states.
