For that, Active Longevity Centers were opened in the country.

Due to the high demand for social services for retirees in Almaty, three additional branches of the Center opened in February 2024. One branch is located in the Medeu district at 24v Tole Bi Street, and two branches are located in the Bostandyk district at 597 Seifullin Avenue and in the Baluan Sholak Sports Complex at 44 Abay Avenue.

The centers opening hours are from 9 A.M. to 6 P.M. To register at the Longevity Centers, those wishing to do so must have a residence permit in Almaty and have an identity card or pension card with them.

The centers are open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. To register at the Longevity Center, those wishing to do so must have a residence permit in Astana and bring an identity card, a pensioner's certificate.

Active Longevity Center options

The main objective of the “Active Longevity Center” is the building and development of motivation of the elderly to extend their active lifestyle, as well as organization of free time and cultural leisure for the elderly.

The activities of the "Center for Active Longevity" in Astana are aimed at the formation and development of motivation of elderly citizens to prolong an active lifestyle, organize free time and cultural leisure for elderly citizens. In the Center (in six district departments), veterans can actively attend the following wellness sections for free: rehabilitation gymnastics, Nordic walking, gyms, yoga, Aikune gymnastics, table tennis, volleyball, Qigong breathing exercises and health dances.

Wellness services teach the elderly to take care of their health and a culture of active longevity.

The Center has organized classes, sections in 20 different areas, gyms, classrooms, computer classes, halls for vocal and creative skills, a cinema hall and assembly halls, cultural events (poetry evenings, book presentations, and others) are regularly held. State and English language courses, psychological group trainings and individual consultations with a psychologist are actively taking place. Computer literacy training courses, an emotional relaxation room (sensory room), and a physiological relaxation room have been organized, which arouse great interest among the recipients of the Center's services. Relaxation is provided by the selected music and video sequence, which allow you to relieve tension and fatigue.

The Center also hosts lectures on security, legal and financial literacy for veterans, aimed at protecting their savings from fraud.

The Municipal State Institution “Center for Active Longevity of Almaty” has been operating since 2022 and is located at 46a Maulenov Street. In 2022, the Almaty Active Ageing Center, a state-owned institution of the Almaty Department of Employment and Social Programs (hereinafter referred to as the Center), was established. It is located at 46a Maulenova Street.
The Center's primary goal is to promote the socialization of retirement-age individuals into active, cultural, creative, athletic, and business-related activities to increase their physical and mental health.
The Center's activities are aimed at supporting senior citizens in maintaining their health, creating a favorable environment, and improving their quality of life. The Center provides 70 different types of social services, including Nordic walking, yoga, wellness exercises, memory strengthening techniques, chess, togyz kumalak, Qigong breathing exercises, classical and modern dance, exercise therapy, foreign language and computer literacy training, medical consultations, and participation in cultural events.

With the support of the Almaty City Department of Employment and Social Programs, the social project "Zharqyn Omir" is being implemented for women from socially vulnerable groups (hereinafter referred to as SUSN), including pensioners. The goal of the project is to provide comprehensive assistance in self-realization and sociocultural adaptation, the prevention and reduction of psycho-emotional stress and the development of aggression, positive self-esteem, the ability to recognize and express one's emotions, as well as self-analysis and increasing the psychological competence of parents in matters of upbringing and the development of effective communication skills in society, the effective building of family traditions, etc.

Also, the social project "Isker isi" is being implemented for SUSN, including pensioners of the city. The goal of the project is to provide comprehensive advisory assistance on a one-stop-shop principle to resolve debt obligations and employment issues for problem borrowers who took out loans from Kazakh banks for the purchase of housing or for business development, as well as defrauded depositors who suffered from unscrupulous microfinance organizations and financial pyramids operating in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
