The agency for the protection and development of competition of the Republic of Kazakhstan transforms its activities to improve the quality of implementation of measures for the protection and development of competition.
To conduct an antitrust analysis of the state of competition in various industries, the development of an advanced information and analytical system based on "Smart Data Ukimet" has begun. This was stated by the chairman of the WKDA M. T. Omarov at the board of the agency.
All the necessary information, as a rule, this is a massive amount of data, will be obtained from the databases of government agencies without referral in the mode of "manual" requests to entrepreneurs. Last year, more than 13 thousand companies received such requests.
This is a good relaxation for business, and the antimonopoly authority itself reduces the time spent on obtaining and processing information.
According to the head of the agency, the analysis methodology itself has also been optimized. Analysis processes are accelerated and their effectiveness increases. Planned analysis is aimed at developing systematic solutions for the development of competition, and unscheduled analysis serves as a tool for taking antitrust response measures.
Chairman of the agency Marat Omarov emphasized the creation of a research center under the agency to improve the quality of the expert and analytical base of the antimonopoly authority. According to him, the main activity of the center should be advisory, methodological and informational support of competition policy.
It was also reported that the agency has introduced the principles of corporate governance, taking into account the best international practices. Now all the main and most important decisions are made openly and collegially by the Board of the antimonopoly authority, with the exception of any subjectivism. More than 30 meetings of the board were held.
