NEW DIRECTIONS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF COOPERATION WERE DISCUSSED BY THE APDC AND THE OECD

The Agency for the Protection and Development of Competition hosted a meeting of the Chief of Staff Almas Isakov with representatives of the mission of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), as part of the OECD's large-scale Review of corporate governance of legal entities with state participation in Kazakhstan.

The OECD mission was led by Hans Christiansen, Deputy Head and Senior Economist at the Office of Corporate Governance and Corporate Finance, and Talisa Zur Hausen, Policy Analyst at the Corporate Governance Division – Office of Financial and Business Affairs.

The parties discussed the current state and prospects for the development of the country's competition policy, as well as topical issues of antimonopoly regulation in the corporate sector.

The bilateral meeting made it possible to identify new directions for the development of cooperation between the AZRC and the OECD.

The review of corporate governance of legal entities with state participation is aimed at assessing the state of corporate governance in the country. The results of the Review will affect the results of consideration of Kazakhstan's intention to join the OECD guidelines on corporate governance of state-owned companies.
