The total length of the highways of Zhetysu region is 3,988 km (1,034 km of republican significance, 2,954 km of local significance).
In 2023, 17.0 billion tenge was allocated for the construction and repair of highways in 221 km of the region. tenge was allocated (NF - 1.5 billion tenge; RB-1.5 billion tenge, MB-14.0 billion tenge).
For reference:
* For the construction and reconstruction of 10 km - 4.7 billion tenge;
* For the overhaul of 6 bridges -1.0 billion tenge;
* For an average repair of 176.6 km - 8.0 billion . tenge;
* for the current repair, maintenance and repair by the route method of 34.4 km – 3.2 billion tenge.
According to the results of the first half of this year, the disbursement of funds amounted to 5.1 billion tenge, 71.5 km were repaired.
There are 31 irregular intra-republican bus routes listed in the management register.
These routes are served by 8 privately owned enterprises, of which: 2 individual entrepreneurs and 6 legal entities.

On January 9 of this year, daily flights on the Taldykorgan-Usharal-Taldykorgan route were resumed.
On March 3 of this year, the department held a fair of public services, during which residents of the regional center had the opportunity to get advice, as well as get answers to some questions about public services.
On March 6 of this year, a meeting on transport was held, where the issues of establishing a sanitary protection zone of the Taldykorgan airport, as well as the construction of a new bus station in the regional center were considered.
On March 9 of this year, a petition was sent to the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan to subsidize the air route with the direction "Astana-Taldykorgan-Astana", they also addressed a letter to the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the transfer of the artificial runway of the airport of Usharal to republican ownership.
On March 15 of this year, a working meeting was held in the department with the participation of interested state bodies, where issues of the development of the bus station of the regional center were discussed. Following the meeting, a number of joint proposals for its further development were developed.
On March 16 of this year, the department took part in a meeting held by the Almaty Department of the State Sanitary and Epidemiological Supervision of Transport on noise reduction at the airport of Taldykorgan.
On March 31 of this year, a meeting was held with the participation of the Civil Aviation Committee, where issues were considered on the establishment of a waiting room with a canopy at the airport in Usharal, as well as on the maintenance of aircraft by this airport at night.
In May of this year, daily flights on the routes "Almaty-Usharal-Almaty" and "Astana-Usharal-Astana" were resumed.
On May 18 of this year, a meeting was held on aviation security issues at the airports of Taldykorgan and Usharal of Alakol district.
On May 25 of this year, we took part in the event "Open Day" held by the branch of the AMANAT party, during which citizens' appeals on urgent issues were considered.
On May 30 of this year, a seminar was held with the staff of the department on the topic "New edition of the Ethical Code of Civil Servants of the Republic of Kazakhstan" and the formation of an anti-corruption culture.
On June 2 of this year, the report of the head of the Department of Passenger Transport and Highways was heard at a meeting of the Public Council for Combating Corruption and Developing Public Administration at the branch of the AMANAT party.
On June 20 of this year, a regulatory legal act was adopted "On determining the list of socially significant messages of the Zhetisu region", approved by the decision of the maslikhat of the region.
According to the results of the 2nd half of 2023 through the portal www.elicense .kz received 6 applications, of which "The issuance of a permit for the placement of outdoor (visual) advertising on stationary advertising facilities in the lane of public roads of regional and district significance" - 3, "The issuance of a license for the right to engage in activities for the irregular transportation of passengers by buses, minibuses in intercity interregional, interdistrict (intercity interregional) in international traffic, as well as regular transportation of passengers by buses, minibuses in international traffic" - 3.
During the reporting period, there were no complaints from service recipients about the quality of public services provided in the department.
Over the past period, the department received 112 applications (mail – 0, on purpose – 13, e-otinish – 99), of which written and oral explanations were given on 68 appeals, 44 appeals were redirected to other state bodies by competence.
