Fire safety rules when using stove heating
Before the start of the heating season, stoves and chimneys must be cleaned, repaired and whitewashed, and cracks must be repaired. Repair and laying of stoves can only be trusted by professionals. The stove, chimney at the junction with the wooden attic or between floor slabs should have a thickening of brickwork-cutting. Do not forget about the thickening of the walls of the oven. Any furnace must have an independent Foundation and not be adjacent to the entire plane of one of the walls to the wooden structures. You need to leave an air gap between them-an indentation. On a wooden floor before a firebox it is necessary to nail down a metal (predtopochny) sheet with the sizes not less than 50 by 70 cm. To prevent the oven from overheating, it is recommended to heat it two or three times a day and no more than an hour and a half. To avoid the formation of cracks in the masonry, you need to periodically clean the chimney from soot accumulating in it. In places where combustible and difficult to burn structures of buildings (walls, partitions, ceilings, beams) are adjacent to stoves and chimneys, it is necessary to provide for the cutting of fireproof materials. When passing chimney through a combustible ceiling brick cutting from the location of the smoke to the chimney adjacent to wooden structures should be 38 cm, i.e. 1.5 brick with a layer of asbestos 2 cm and the combustible roof sheathing around the chimney, cut off at 13 inches, and the hole is protected by a metal sheet. Before firing the furnace on solid fuel on a wooden or other floor made of combustible materials, a metal pre-heating sheet of 50x70 centimeters in size should be nailed. Clean chimneys and stoves from soot before the start, as well as during the entire heating season at least once every three months.
When using the furnace heating it is forbidden:
- leave burning stoves unattended, as well as entrust supervision of them to young children;
- position fuel, other combustible substances and materials on the pre-heating sheet;
- use gasoline, kerosene, diesel fuel and other flammable and combustible liquids to ignite stoves;
- to heat the furnace with coal, coke and gas, not intended
