Yevgeny Seypulnik's initiative on the possibility of using pension savings by depositors for their own needs during the coronavirus pandemic is his private opinion. At the next meeting of the Public Council at the UAPF, which took place on July 17, 2020, this proposal was not discussed.
All over the world, in the context of the coronavirus pandemic and quarantine, systemic measures are being taken to support citizens from the state at the expense of budgetary and extra-budgetary funds. At the same time, it is important that issues related to emergencies are not resolved at the expense of personal pension savings of citizens intended for their retirement benefits after the end of their employment.
Any proposals for a pension system require calculations and estimates, taking into account the long-term consequences of the decisions made on the pension provision of citizens, government spending and the economy as a whole.
Since Yevgeny Seypulnik's proposals were presented without detailed elaboration and substantiating calculations, the position voiced by him on social networks was not supported by the Public Council at the UAPF during an online discussion.
