An inside look at the competitive selection for the judicial corps of the Republic of Kazakhstan

In order to increase the prestige of the judicial profession, as well as to improve the mechanisms for the formation of the judiciary and to ensure transparency of competitive procedures, the Supreme Judicial Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan has held a series of meetings with persons who received a positive recommendation from the Supreme Judicial Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan for judicial positions.

During conversation the participants noted the high level of organization of the competitive process, emphasizing its transparency, objectivity and consistency at all stages. They outlined that the selection made it possible to assess comprehensively both the professional skills and personal qualities of the candidates.

This provided a unique opportunity to look at the competition "from inside" — to reveal the motivation of participants and their willingness to perform essential tasks related to the administration of justice.

The responses of judges demonstrate a high level of confidence in the current selection system and confirm the progressive development of approaches for formation of a professional judicial corps in the country.
