Chairman of the Judicial Jury at the Supreme Judicial Council Nurzhan Kayypzhan held a personal reception for citizens

At the request of the citizens, the reception was provided both in offline format and via videoconference of the regional courts. During the reception, citizens voiced arguments about disagreement with judicial acts and bringing judges to disciplinary responsibility.

The Chairman of the Judicial Jury provided detailed explanations on the powers of the Supreme Judicial Council and the Judicial Jury, in particular that the Judicial Jury is not a judicial body and cannot review judicial acts.

The procedure for appealing court decisions and the algorithm for bringing judges to disciplinary responsibility were explained. It was noted that under the new procedure, which came into effect on October 1, 2024, a judge can be disciplined only for gross violation of the law, which is indicated in a separate submission from a higher court.

Citizens also received comprehensive answers regarding the violation of ethical standards by judges. According to the Regulations on the Judicial Jury, such appeals are sent to the Supreme Court and regional courts for inspections.
