World Civil Defense day will be celebrated

Every year, in many countries of the world, at the invitation of the International Civil Defense Organization, World Civil Defense Day is celebrated on March 1.

It should be noted that the holiday is aimed at coordinating the efforts of countries in the Prevention of natural and man-made emergencies, preparing the population and information security services for possible extreme situations and is held under a certain motto. This year, the celebration is held under the motto "strong civil defense for the preservation of the national economy".

Today, the International Civil Defense Organization (IHO) is the only international intergovernmental organization that specializes in civil defense and the protection of the population at the international level and unites about 70 countries in Europe, Asia and Africa. Since October 31, 1997, after the entry into force of the law of the Republic of Kazakhstan" on accession of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Charter of the International Civil Defense Organization", Kazakhstan has been a full member of the IOFS.

The main objectives of the IOFS are to promote the creation and strengthening of civil protection structures, provide technical and advisory assistance, develop training programs for civil protection services, and ensure the exchange of best practices between the member states.

In addition, in order to improve the effectiveness of international cooperation in the event of a disaster, the IOM will work to generalize the experience of managing actions in emergency situations, integrate and provide national civil protection services of the member states at the international level, and disseminate international humanitarian law in terms of protecting and providing assistance to the civilian population.

The Ministry of emergency situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan attaches great importance to the promotion of knowledge in the field of civil protection among children and modern youth of the country.

Tactical and special exercises, exercises, and competitions were held everywhere in the Republic.

Thematic class hours, open lessons and lectures were held in schools and kindergartens in all regions of the country, and personnel of emergency departments visited the housing sector of campaign materials, information, educational and preventive nature.

All events dedicated to the celebration of the world Civil Defense day are aimed at raising public awareness of actions in emergency situations.

As a result of the events, participants received theoretical knowledge and practical skills of self-defense, learned how to save yourself and save others in the event of various dangerous situations.

In general, cooperation between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the IOFS contributes to the formation of international mechanisms for humanitarian response and systems of protection of the population, as well as the implementation of the global agenda in the field of sustainable development, strengthening international cooperation in the field of improving readiness and responding to challenges and threats of the XXI century.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan is represented in the International Organization. The result of such interaction is the introduction of new methods and technologies in the field of protection of the population and territories from emergencies, improvement of methods and standards of training of specialized specialists of emergency services, the exchange of best practices in the field of prevention and elimination of disasters and disasters and strengthening of international cooperation.
