The category of objects with a mass stay of people has a fairly wide nomenclature. These include buildings and structures of various classes of functional fire hazard: cinemas, concert halls, clubs, sports facilities, buildings of trade organizations, hotels, hospitals, nursing homes, educational facilities.
For this category of objects, regulatory documents on fire safety provide for higher requirements aimed at ensuring the safety of people, as well as a high degree of responsibility of officials who have obligations to ensure fire safety at these facilities.
Each object with a mass stay of people should be provided with primary fire extinguishing means, communication means for calling the fire service and equipped with automatic fire alarm systems, automatic fire extinguishing and warning systems for people.
Special attention should be paid to escape routes, finishing and facing materials and flooring that do not meet fire safety requirements should not be used.
Commercial equipment should be located taking into account the provision of free passages with a width of at least 2 meters along the rows to the evacuation exits. It is forbidden to place watch repair points, kiosks, gaming machines, vending machines on evacuation routes and staircases.
Fire-fighting water supply networks, i.e. fire hydrants and fire cranes must be constantly maintained in good condition, checked for water output and operability at least twice a year (in spring and autumn). Installation, commissioning, operation of electrical networks, electrical installations and electrical products, as well as monitoring of their technical condition is carried out in accordance with the rules of electrical installations and the rules of technical operation of electrical installations of consumers.
The main task of ensuring fire safety is to increase the responsibility of owners and staff of facilities with a mass stay of people.
Unfortunately, some business representatives do not reciprocate and do not pay due attention to fire safety. We remind you once again that managers are responsible for fire safety at any facility in accordance with the law.
In addition, managers and owners should take staff training more seriously.
