Children's prank with fire

Fires that occur due to a child's prank with fire are, unfortunately, not a rare phenomenon.

A child's prank with fire often causes fires. Everyone knows that matches are not a toy for a child. But not all parents know how to protect a child and prevent possible tragedies. It is necessary to form in children a sense of the danger of fire, to instill the skills of safe handling of household appliances and correct behavior in case of fire.

Almost all children show an increased interest in fire, not fully realizing its potential danger. It is impossible to be sure that a child, left alone at home, will not dare to play with a box of matches, will not want to set fire to paper, will not be interested in the work of household appliances, which is enough in every apartment.

The Department of Emergency Situations of the Ulan district recalls measures to prevent fires due to the pranks of children:

- tell children about fire-safe behavior;

- leaving the house for a short time so that the child does not get bored, give him a task, tell him a theme for the game, pick up the right toys;

- matches and lighters are not toys for children. Do not leave them in places accessible to children;

- do not trust the kindling of the furnace in the house to young children, and do not leave the furnace burning unattended,

- "plug" all open electrical outlets, use special plastic plugs for this, they are sold in any hardware store and are very inexpensive;

- do not leave electrical appliances unattended. Teach children how to use them properly;

- teach actions in case of fire, accident, etc.;

- check if your child knows his home address, and also learn with him the phone numbers of rescue services, write them down on paper and hang them near the telephone.

As they say, the forbidden fruit is sweet, so it is more useful to explain once again to the child about the danger lurking in a box of matches, a lighter, than just to say: "You can't!".

Dear parents! Teach children by personal example to comply with fire safety rules. Where explanatory work is carried out among children aimed at preventing fires from children's pranks with fire, the risk of fires for this reason is minimized.
