Carbon monoxide

Carbon monoxide

In fact, carbon monoxide is flammable and odorless, and what is known as the "smell of carbon monoxide" is nothing but the smell of organic impurities. At the same time, carbon monoxide is extremely toxic and dangerous. It is often believed that it is possible to get poisoning from carbon monoxide only during fires, which is a common mistake of many people. The Department of Emergency Situations urges all citizens to comply with fire safety rules, because negligence can lead to accidents.

Remember - carbon monoxide is insidious, it acts quickly and imperceptibly, so life and health depend on the speed of the measures taken. Take care of yourself and your family!

The OCHS of the Ulan district recommends observing basic safety rules:

- before the start of the heating season, repair the furnaces, clean the chimneys from soot at least once a month;

- annually call a master who has received special training to inspect oil and gas household appliances, fireplaces and wood stoves;

In case of a fire, call 101.
