The population of the Ulan district began work on harvesting hay and harvesting coarse feed. Ensuring fire safety is not an unimportant issue in carrying out this type of agricultural work. Currently, employees of the Emergency Department of the Ulan district in rural districts are conducting briefings on the topic of fire safety in the hay field, during which the fire safety requirements are explained in detail in order to prevent fires both in the field and during the storage and storage of coarse feed in the autumn-winter period.
Tractor drivers, combine harvesters, their assistants and other machine operators, as well as officials involved in harvesting and forage harvesting, must undergo fire-fighting instruction according to a special program.
Persons allocated for harvesting work should also be instructed about the basic fire safety measures. Before the departure of harvesters and tractors to grain arrays and hayfields, equip them with serviceable spark arresters, provide vehicles equipped for the transportation of coarse feed with a serviceable factory-made muffler with their output under the front buffer.
Temporary field camps should be located no closer than 100 meters from grain arrays, stacks. The sites reserved for field camps, fuel depots, as well as for temporary field parking of cars, are plowed with a strip of at least 4 meters wide. Field camps must be provided with water supplies for fire extinguishing, fire extinguishers, shovels and brooms. Do not allow work with the use of open fire, smoking on and near grain arrays.
When harvesting, transporting and storing coarse feed: haylofts should be located near rivers, ponds at a distance of at least 100 meters from buildings, highways and 30 meters from power lines, on stationary sites cleared of grass and coarse feed residues. Plow a protective strip of 6 meters with an indentation of this strip from the stacks of at least 15 meters. Individual stacks should also have protective strips at a distance of 10 meters from the base of the stack. Provide haylofts with fencing (a fence or a deep moat), electric lighting around the perimeter and reliable round-the-clock security. Warehouses of coarse feed should be equipped with lightning protection. Hayloft fires are registered in the area annually, as a result of which significant damage is caused.
