The exchange of the 2006 banknotes will be open-ended

In accordance with the Resolution of the Board of the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated 24.05.2021. the branches of the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan shall establish an indefinite exchange of banknotes of the 2006 model withdrawn from circulation.

Thus, from June 14, 2021, all branches of the National Bank will accept banknotes of the 2006 model withdrawn from circulation in nominal value 500, 1 000, 2 000, 5 000 and 10,000 tenge, and after confirming their authenticity, replace them with new-style banknotes.

BANKNOTES OF THE 2006 MODEL

Residents of the East Kazakhstan region can exchange banknotes of the 2006 model in the East Kazakhstan branch of the National Bank (Ust-Kamenogorsk, Kazakhstan str., 3) without charging a commission or exchange fee on working days from 9-00 to 15-00 hours.
