April 18-International Day of Historical Sites and Monuments

In Kazakhstan, the International Day of Monuments and Historical Sites has been celebrated on April 18 since 1984. The Assembly of the Council for the Protection of International Monuments and Attractions at UNESCO established this day in 1983. To date, this organization includes 175 countries of the world. 754 historical sites in 122 countries are included in the UNESCO list. There are more than 25 thousand historical and cultural monuments of national value in Kazakhstan.

 

The number of architectural, historical and archaeological monuments located in the Ulan district of the East Kazakhstan region is 37, including: archaeological monuments-33, architectural monuments – 4, republican significance-1.

As part of the celebration of this day, the KSU "Centralized Library System of the Ulan district" together with the State Institution "Department of Culture, Language Development, Physical Culture and Sports of the Ulan district" hold Information Days, event cycles.
