Safe use of gas equipment

In order to prevent fire and emergency situations during the operation of household gas equipment, the Emergency Department of the Ulan district asks you to observe the following rules when operating gas appliances:

- do not use gas cylinders in residential buildings with a height of more than 2 floors;

- do not perform unauthorized gasification of premises, replacement and repair of gas appliances, cylinders and shut-off valves;

- do not leave running gas appliances unattended;

- do not use an open fire to check for gas leaks (for this purpose, use a soap solution);

- do not allow children to use gas appliances and do not leave them unattended.

When installing gas equipment, observe the following distances from furniture and other combustible materials:

- at least 0.2 m horizontally to the nearest vertical surface;

- at least 0.7 m vertically to the nearest overhanging horizontal surface;

- at least 1 m from radiators, other heating appliances and stoves;

- at least 5 m-from heat sources with an open fire.

In the event of a gas leak:

- shut off the gas supply;

- open windows and doors;

- do not light matches, lighters, or enter the room with a lit cigarette;

- do not turn on lights or electrical appliances;

- if gas ignites, do not blow out the flame-as long as the gas burns, there is no danger of explosion.

If gas cylinders are found in residential apartment buildings, immediately report the address of the apartment and the full name of the owner of the house to the KSK "Zhemchuzhina" at number 8-(72338)27-419 or to the emergency department of the Ulan district at number "101", 8-(72338)27-381 .
