On the night of January 18-19, the Orthodox world celebrates the feast of the Epiphany or Epiphany. In order to ensure the safety of citizens during the ritual events during the celebration of Epiphany, associated with bathing in equipped fonts, we remind guests and residents of the district about security measures during the celebration of the Epiphany of the Lord.
Experts strongly recommend that citizens observe safety measures during swimming and, in particular, do not go out on the ice in large companies or in a state of alcoholic intoxication.
FOLLOW THESE RULES:
Before swimming in the hole, you need to warm up by doing a warm-up, jogging.
It is necessary to approach the hole in comfortable, non-slip and easily removable shoes. It is possible to use special rubber slippers, which also protect your feet from sharp stones and salt, and will not allow you to slide on the ice. When going to the hole, remember that the path can be slippery. Go slowly.
It is best to dive up to the neck, without soaking your head, to avoid reflex narrowing of the vessels of the brain; Never dive into the hole head first. Diving and diving with your head in the water is not recommended, as this increases the loss of temperature and can lead to cold shock.
When entering the water for the first time, try to quickly reach the desired depth, but do not swim. Remember that cold water can cause perfectly normal safe rapid breathing.
Do not stay in the hole for more than 1 minute to avoid general hypothermia of the body.
When sinking to the bottom in a small hole, the danger is also that not everyone knows how to descend vertically. Many descend at an angle, shifting towards the edge of the ice. At a depth of 4 m, the offset from the starting point can reach 1-1. 5 m. When surfacing with your eyes closed in a small hole, you can "miss" and hit your head on the ice.
Attention! Doctors categorically forbid children to swim in the cold! Young children, especially infants, have an imperfect thermoregulation system. Frostbite can happen very quickly and parents simply do not have time to notice it. The consequences of such bathing can be very serious: the child can get pneumonia, meningitis, or other diseases of the central nervous system.
Getting out of the hole is not so easy. When going out, do not hold directly to the handrails, use a dry towel, a handful of snow from the edge of the hole, you can scoop up more water in handfuls and, leaning on the handrails, quickly and vigorously rise.
Getting out in an upright position is difficult and dangerous. If you break down, you can go under the ice. Insurance and mutual assistance are required.
After bathing (dipping), rub yourself with a terry towel and put on dry clothes; you need to drink hot tea.
In case of emergency situations, please call: 112.
