The Head of State received the Akim of the East Kazakhstan region

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev heard a report by Danial Akhmetov on the socio-economic situation in the region, the press service of the President reports.

"According to the mayor, the volume of production, in particular, the physical growth index, amounted to 5 %, investments in fixed assets increased by more than 5 %. The growth of indicators in agriculture and construction has been ensured.

During the meeting, the prospects for further economic development were considered. In particular, they discussed the completion of the second stage of the Aktogay metallurgical complex, which will double the production capacity of this facility.

The President was informed about the readiness of the region to switch to the traditional format of training. The staff of educational institutions has been vaccinated. In general, the vaccination rate in the region is 10 thousand people per day. By the end of September, the main contingent will be vaccinated with the first component, and by the end of October – with the second. In total, it is planned to vaccinate 747 thousand residents of East Kazakhstan.

Danial Akhmetov also informed the Head of State about the execution of instructions in the field of mass sports development. An additional 890 million tenge was allocated for further support of school sports. Today, more than 50 % of schoolchildren have the opportunity to play sports. This year, it is planned to complete the construction of 15 large sports facilities.
